How the network works

You deliver the tutoring. Brilliant manages the referred client relationship.

Brilliant Maths is building a managed tutor network rather than an open marketplace. Learners introduced through Brilliant stay within the Brilliant enquiry and payment route, while approved tutors remain responsible for delivering their own tutoring service professionally.

No general exclusivity. You remain free to tutor clients you sourced independently.

    The enquiry includes subject, grade, location, lesson mode and practical needs.

    A suitable tutor opportunity is identified

    Your profile, areas, subjects, rate and availability help determine whether the opportunity suits you.

    You are not placed into a learner slot automatically. You decide whether the referral fits your business and schedule.

    You use your own transport, equipment, teaching resources and professional judgement to deliver the lesson.

    The client pays Brilliant under the agreed network process; you invoice Brilliant for services you delivered.

Can I keep my own tutoring clients?

Yes. The intended network model does not restrict clients you sourced independently. Brilliant manages the learner relationships it introduces through its own network.

Who sets my tutoring rate?

You provide the rate you want to charge for your tutoring profile. Your rate forms part of the fit when Brilliant considers suitable learner opportunities.

Does Brilliant set my working hours?

No fixed staff schedule is advertised here. You provide your availability and decide whether a particular learner opportunity fits it.

Do I need my own transport and equipment?

For in-person tutoring, you are expected to manage your own transport. Tutors also provide the equipment, connectivity and working resources they need to deliver their services.

How do payments work for Brilliant-referred learners?

Under the intended network model, the referred client pays Brilliant Maths through the agreed client process, and the tutor invoices Brilliant for tutoring services delivered. Final invoicing and settlement terms are governed by the tutor agreement.

Is this a salaried staff position?

This page describes an independent tutor-network opportunity rather than a fixed-shift salaried teaching role. The final contractual, tax and legal position is governed by the applicable agreement and South African law.
